Andrew Watson, son of David & Heather who founded Woodlands in the esteemed Wilyabrup Valley in 1973, will be in Sydney on March 17th to showcase the brand new release of the Woodlands Brook Vineyard Chardonnay 2018, the “Emily” Cab Franc/Merlot 2018 and the first commercial release Malbec 2018. He will also open some of his family’s classic wines “Margaret” Cabernet Merlot Malbec Reserve 2016 and Cabernet Sauvignon “Benjamin” 2013. As a member of one of Margaret River’s founding 5 families, Andrew knows more than most about the history, climate, terroir and future of Margaret River wines while also being one of the most charismatic, fun and knowledgeable communicators in the industry.
If you’re a fan of Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc etc) and keen to taste some of Margaret River’s most respected wines with a winemaker renowned also as a prodigious talker and storyteller, this is a tasting not to be missed!
